Stratford Choral Society celebrates the best of choral traditions
Our Choral Society performs both modern and classical choral works to a high standard, delivering three or four concerts a year.
Under the direction of our dynamic music director Oliver Neal Parker, we perform with some of Britain’s finest up-and-coming soloists and with the Regency Sinfonia which together make our concerts inspiring occasions.
We have just complerted a very successful 2024-25 season, culminating in a very special performance of the St John Passion by J.S. Bach.
The concert was very well recieved - in the words of our reviewer "The orchestral opening ... whispered with gripping urgency, its tread leading forward to the powerful choral entry. Many multiples larger than Bach’s own choral forces in Leipzig, the SCS nevertheless sang with commendable lightness and balance under the gently authoritative conducting of Oliver Neal Parker
This choral input of a very high standard was maintained throughout the evening, with the many chorales, originally reaching out to the Lutheran congregation, particularly effective"

We have an exciting season planned for 2025-26, starting with a summer concert in June. This will provide a musical tour of Europe, featuring pieces from the European Sacred Music songbook.
Interested in singing with us?
We welcome non-members of the society who would like to sing with us for our summer concert. Join us for rehearsals from April 28th, and take part in our concert on June 21st - no audition necessary, full details are here. You will be made very welcome.
Our main season starts with rehearsals from September 1st. Our door is always open to new members but it is best to join at the start of the season. Come and share your voice and make new friends, and experience the joys of choral singing.
